NEET UG Counselling plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and transparent allocation of seats in medical and dental colleges, based on the student’s All India Rank. On behalf of the Directorate General of Health Services, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts the NEET UG Counselling for the All India Quota seats as well as for seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC, AFMC, Central Universities, and Deemed colleges across the country. For state quota seats, a separate counselling process is conducted by different states through their respective counselling bodies.
Currently there is no restriction on the number of attempts allowed for the NEET UG exam. You can appear for the exam multiple times, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria for each attempt.
The NEET UG exam consists of 200 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Students have 3 hours and 20 minutes to complete the exam, with each correct answer earning 4 marks and each incorrect answer getting a negative mark of 1. The maximum score is 720.
