KEAM Kerala Counselling application is now open. The deadline for the application is April 17, 2024, at 5:00 PM. The last date to upload all supporting documents is April 24. The Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE) is responsible for conducting entrance exams for professional courses, including Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medical (KEAM).

 

 

In 2023, out of 1,37,396 NEET UG candidates registered in Kerala, 1,33,450 appeared for the exam, and 75,362 candidates qualified, which is 43.2% of the total number of medical aspirants who appeared. Candidate registration continued the upward trend in 2024, soaring to 1,44,949, a 5% increase.

Eligibility Criteria for Kerala Counselling

 

 

 

 

Candidates must carefully examine and get accustomed to the various eligibility norms to participate in KEAM Kerala Counselling. Students who satisfy the eligibility conditions as mentioned in the Prospectus must apply through the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

 

 

The official body of correspondence will be CEE, which will share all the essential news and notifications. Kerala is an Open State. Students nationwide can fill out the application form to participate in Kerala counselling.

 

 

Who Can Apply for Kerala Counselling?

 

 

a.  Kerala State Domicile or wards of Kerala native parents can apply for 85% of seats in government colleges and 100% in private colleges.

 

b. Candidates who have undergone qualifying courses in Kerala and meet specific criteria regarding their parents' service or completion of school studies in Kerala can apply for 85% of seats in government colleges under Non-Keralite Category I [NK I].

 

c. Other state candidates are also eligible to apply for 15% of seats in private colleges under Non-Keralite Category II [NK II]

 

 

Category-Wise Eligibility Criteria in Kerala Counselling

 

 

1. Nationality: Only Indian citizens can apply for admission to MBBS/BDS and other medical courses. Overseas Citizens of India Cardholders will also be treated on par with Indian Citizens. There are no reservations for Persons of Indian Origin and OCI candidates. 

 

 

2. Keralite: Aspirants originating from Kerala fall under this category. Only Keralite candidates can avail of fee concessions for Communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservations. Wards of All India Service (AIS) officers in Kerala cadre belong to this category. 

 

 

3. Non-Keralite Category I (NK I): Candidates not having a Kerala origin but satisfying one of the following criteria can apply under this category.

 

  • Students who have passed a qualifying exam in Kerala. Wards of GOI/Defence Personnel that are posted in Kerala.

 

  • A resident of Kerala State for a period of five years within the twelve years of their study. Also, candidates who have studied in Kerala from standards 8th to 12th.

 

  • Pupils of non-Keralite parents have served in the Government of Kerala for at least two years.

 

 

4. Non-Keralite Category II (NK II): This category includes candidates not in the Keralite or Non-Keralite I categories. Students in NK II can apply for 15% of private college seats in the state. These candidates are not eligible for medical courses at government colleges. 



Academic Qualifications to Fulfill the Eligibility Criteria

 

 

To be eligible for KEAM Kerala Counselling, candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or equivalent examinations with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.

 

They must have passed these subjects individually and in English. It's important to carefully review and understand all the eligibility requirements before applying for counselling.

Step 1: Registration for Kerala Counselling

 

 

  • Browse the KEAM Kerala Counselling’s official website. Click on the Register Here button to begin a new Application

 

 

 

  • Read the clauses presented in the Declaration. Tick the boxes against them. Click on Proceed for Registration.”

 

 

 

  • On the next screen, fill out the primary required data like the candidate’s name, date of birth, and current valid mobile number. Click on Registerafter entering the displayed string of numbers in the exact sequence.
