Re NEET Score 250: Available Medical College Options

The official provisional answer keys have been released by the NTA. Candidates must visit the official website to view the official provisional answer keys and calculate their NEET 2026 marks. If their approximate NEET 2026 score is 250, then here’s a list of probable medical colleges where they may have a chance. Candidates must note that 250 marks in the re NEET 2026 exam is not very high, and getting placed in government medical colleges may not be easy. Even getting a seat in a private medical college with 250 marks in re NEET 2026 can be competitive. However, the table below lists medical colleges where candidates were allotted medical seats in the NEET 2025 session.

Candidates with a NEET score of 250 are expected to fall within the 6,57,500 - 6,74,600 rank range. Considering these ranks, here’s a table showing the list of medical colleges  where candidates were allotted MBBS seats in 2025, along with the last allotted NEET AIRs:

6,67,105 (Open) (NRI Quota)

NAMO Medical Education and Research Institute, Silvassa

6,68,699 (OBC PwD) (All India Quota)

From the table above, it is clear that many admissions at this rank were possible mainly through NRI quota seats in private and deemed medical universities. Colleges, such as Mahatma Gandhi Missions Medical College in Navi Mumbai and Aurangabad, Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College in Kolhapur, and Sri Ramachandra Medical College in Chennai, offered MBBS seats to candidates with AIRs above 6.5 lakh under the Open NRI quota. This indicates that students with lower NEET scores may still have opportunities for MBBS admission if they are eligible for NRI-sponsored seats and can meet the higher fee structures of these institutions.

The table also highlights a few government or semi-government colleges where admissions were granted under special reservation categories. For example, Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, Bellary and NAMO Medical Education and Research Institute, Silvassa allotted seats to OBC PwD candidates through the All India Quota. Similarly, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, Delhi also recorded allotments under the OBC category through the NRI quota. These allotments demonstrate how reservation benefits and quota-based admissions can significantly influence cutoff ranks during counselling.

Another important observation is that most colleges listed in this range are reputed private medical institutions located in states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Delhi. Colleges, such as Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi and Rajarajeshwari Medical College, Bangalore, continue to attract candidates even in lower rank brackets because of their infrastructure, clinical exposure, and established academic reputation.

Students should understand that NEET cutoff ranks vary every year depending on factors such as exam difficulty, total number of candidates, seat availability, and counselling trends. Therefore, the colleges and ranks mentioned in the table should be considered indicative rather than guaranteed admission benchmarks.

For candidates scoring around 250 marks, participating in every round of counselling, including mop-up and stray vacancy rounds, becomes extremely important. With careful planning, category benefits, and proper counselling strategy, some MBBS admission opportunities may still be possible within this rank range.
