MCC Counselling generally lasts three rounds, followed by a Stray Vacancy round if necessary. After the registration process is completed, the next step is Choice Filling. The candidates must insert their medical college of choice according to their requirements.
Several factors may lead the candidate to enter a particular college choice, from the institute type (Government, Private, Deemed, Central Universities), fee structures, seat type, NEET-UG cut-offs, and candidate’s category.
The choice-filling window for Round 1 lasted five days in 2023, from July 22nd to 26th. Once satisfied with the choices entered, the candidate can move on to the Seat Allotment process, which takes two days, followed by the result declaration. As of 2024, the Medical Counselling Committee allows for Fresh Choice filling for Rounds 2 and 3, including the Stray Vacancy round.
