Purpose of the Mandatory Service Bond
Here are a few reasons for the implementation of the mandatory service bond for the Delhi NEET PG and MBBS students:
- Addressing Doctor Shortage: The implementation of the mandatory service bond aims to improve the healthcare access in the underserved areas. The mandatory service bond ensures a steady supply of doctors by retaining the UG and PG graduates.
- Return on Government Investment: The fee structure for medical education in government institutions is highly subsidized. The mandatory 1-year service bond to serve in the specified institutions is a form of repayment to the government for the subsidized fees.
