Singapore Government Approves KMC Manipal's MBBS Degree for Registration
NEET UG
The Singapore government has approved the MBBS degree from Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal, for medical registration in Singapore. Since 2008, no new Medical College approval in Singapore for Indian medical college has been added to Singapore’s approved list.
The recognition of Medical College approval in Singapore follows that of Madras Medical College, Chennai, which was recognised in 2007. This landmark decision by the Singapore Government to approve the KMC Manipal MBBS degree makes KMC Manipal one of a select group of Indian medical colleges whose graduates can pursue professional opportunities in Singapore.
Following rigorous assessment and evaluation, Singapore has now included Medical College approval in Singapore, which is KMC Manipal, as a trusted institution for training future doctors and upskilling medical graduates. KMC Manipal is also the only medical college in India recognised by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) in the USA. This recognition allows KMC students to undertake long-term clinical clerkships and electives in New York State without restrictions on the duration of their clerkships. Together, these recognitions substantially enhance the global value of the Singapore Government’s approval of the KMC Manipal MBBS degree.
Singapore recognised that the Singapore Government had approved the KMC Manipal MBBS degree from a limited number of Indian institutions. Refer to the table for the year-wise list of institutes approved by Singapore.
