UP NEET Counselling 2024 Round One Schedule Out, Dates, August 24 Deadline

 

UP NEET Counselling 2024 will be held online by the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET). The Directorate of Medical Education and Training Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, will start the registration for the UP NEET counselling 2024 from August 20. The last date for the counselling registration is August 24. DMET has released guidelines for eligibility criteria, reservation factors, domicile, fees, etc. Dates for UP NEET UG Counselling 2024 will be released soon, along with the official brochure.

 

NTA released revised scorecards for NEET 2024, merit list, and answer key after the Supreme Court's decision, rejecting the idea of re-exam for all. The court revoked the grace marks given to candidates, reducing the total topper to 17. NEET 2024 exam was reconducted on June 23 for 1,563 students as they were given grace marks for loss of time earlier. The result of retesting NEET 2024 was announced on July 1, 2024. 

 

Candidates must register on the official website, https://upneet.gov.in, and submit an application form for the NEET 2024 Counselling seat allocation process. The merit list for UP NEET Counselling 2024 MBBS/BDS admission comprises eligible candidates for counselling rounds. Candidates must declare a preference for choices for college and course for seat allotment. 

 

UP NEET Counselling 2024 will be held for allotment of 85% seats. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct UP NEET Counselling 2024 to allot the remaining 15% of All India Quota seats. Qualifying for NEET 2024 with the minimum cut-off is a mandatory criterion for UP NEET Counselling 2024. 

 

UP NEET Counselling 2024 will take place in three rounds. The third round will be an open round or mop-up round. The seats left vacant after the first round of DGME UP NEET Counselling 2024 will be carried forward to the second round. 

 

It is important to note that admission to MBBS/ BDS courses offered by the medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh is done based on the marks scored in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test only. The state will conduct no other entrance test for this purpose. Seats are allotted based on choices filled, NEET 2024 score, reservation factors, etc.

Stages of UP NEET UG Counselling 2024

 

To participate in the UP NEET Counselling 2024, a candidate must follow the below-mentioned steps:

 

 

Registration – 

 

1. All those candidates who wish to participate in the UP NEET Counselling 2024 have to register themselves on the official website – https://upneet.gov.in/

 

2. Candidates must register only once for the UP NEET Counselling 2024. Candidates who register for the first round do not have to register again for the second round.

 

3. A fee of INR 2,000 must be paid for successful registration. This registration fee can be paid via credit card, debit card, or net banking.

 

 

Security Money – 

 

1. After registration, candidates must pay a refundable security deposit or “security money.”

 

2. This security money must be paid via a Demand Draft payable at Lucknow in favor of “Director General, Medical Education & Training, U.P.”

 

Note: The security money differs for the candidates who wish to participate in private or government colleges. The amount of security money also differs for medical and dental courses. 

 

Verification of Documents – 

 

1. After successful registration and deposit of the security money, a candidate needs to report to the nodal centers for document verification.

 

 

2. If a candidate fails to report to the respective nodal center in the stipulated time, their seat will be given to the candidate next in line.

 

 

3. Only after the documents are successfully verified can a candidate proceed to the next stage of UP NEET Counselling 2024.

 

 

Choice Filling and Locking – 

 

After verifying their documents, candidates must log in to the UP NEET Counselling 2024 MBBS official website and select their preferred colleges. 

 

A step-by-step guide for the choice-filling and locking process in the counselling of UP NEET Counselling 2024 is given below:

 

• Login: Log in using the NEET 2024 roll number and password. An OTP will be sent to the candidates' registered mobile numbers.

 

• Choice Filling: A list of colleges will appear on the screen. The candidate must choose the desired colleges in order of preference. Those applying for private and minority colleges should check all the information about the colleges and their fee structure before selecting them. After choosing the preferred colleges, the candidate must save the selection to proceed.

 

• Locking of the options: The choices must be locked and submitted before the deadline. For the candidates who fail to submit the final decisions, their application will not be considered for UP NEET Counselling 2024.

 

• Seat allotment list: Once the choices are submitted, DMET reviews all the applications and forms a merit or seat allotment list for the selected candidates.

 

• Reporting to the college allotted: Those who want to continue with the seat allotted to them in the UP NEET Counselling 2024 must report to the college allotted to them. They must report to the college before the last date and carry the relevant documents.

 

Documents required during the verification process of UP NEET Counselling 2024

 

Candidates must carry the following documents to the respective nodal centers for verification. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the allocated seat.

 

• NEET 2024 Admit Card

 

• NEET 2024 rank card

 

• Class 10th mark sheet

 

• Class 12th mark sheet

 

• A valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar card/ Passport/ Driving License/PAN card)

 

• Domicile Certificate of Uttar Pradesh

 

• Caste Certificate

 

• Online registration slip

 

• Receipt depicting the successful deposition of security money
