BREAKING: NEET UG 2024 Key Changes and Re-Examination Details

A Hello Mentor Overview of NEET UG 2024 Key Changes and Re-Examination Details

The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET UG 2024 on 5 May 2024. The exam, held from 02:00 to 05:20 PM (IST), took place across 4750 centres in 571 cities, including 14 cities abroad, with over 24 lakh candidates appearing for the test. The results for NEET UG 2024 were declared on 4 June 2024.

Compensatory Marks for NEET UG 2024

Post-examination, grievances were raised concerning allocating compensatory/grace marks to 1563 candidates who experienced time loss during the exam. In response, the NTA constituted a High Powered Committee to examine these issues thoroughly. After a detailed review, the NTA accepted the Committee's recommendations. Consequently, a decision has been made to reconduct the NEET UG 2024 for the affected candidates.

The National Testing Agency also states that the re-examination will be conducted on June 23, with the results declared on June 30, 2024. This ensures that NEET UG 2024 counselling starts by July 6, 2024.

2. Re-Examination Participation: A re-examination will be conducted only for those 1563 candidates who were granted compensatory marks. Candidates opting not to appear for the re-examination will have their results declared based on their actual marks (without compensation) from the exam held on 5 May 2024.

3. Results and Score Cards: The marks obtained in the re-examination will be considered final, and the scores from the 5 May 2024 examination will be discarded for those who attend the re-test. New Admit Cards for the re-examination will be issued to the concerned candidates. After the re-exam, the fresh scorecards will be available on the NTA website. Results to be tentatively announced on 30th June 2024.
