Sports Quota Selection Criteria

The Sports Quota Selection Criteria will follow a systematic and merit-based evaluation of their sports achievements.

1. Best Achievements Considered

  • Only the two best/highest achievements in sports from the eligible three financial years will be considered.

  • Only one highest achievement will be taken from each financial year.

2. Marking Scheme

According to the KEA KCET 2025 Sports Quota's official notification, marks are assigned to each sports achievement based on Annexure-1. Higher-level events (like the Olympics or Asian Games) receive greater weightage than state—or district-level events.

3. Tie-Breaking Rule

In case of a tie between two or more candidates, the third-best achievement in the three years will be considered for tie resolution.

4. Preparation of Merit List

The merit list for the sports quota will be prepared by summing up the marks of the two
