Updating Bank Details for NEET 2026 Exam Fee Refund

As per the official notice released by the NTA, the examination authority is committed to refunding the examination fees paid by all candidates in view of the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 examination held on May 3rd, 2026. The public notice further states that the NTA had already committed to refund the examination fee paid by all candidates in view of the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 examination held on May 3rd, 2026.

For the refund process, candidates were requested to furnish their bank account details on the dedicated NTA portal. The purpose of collecting these details was to ensure that the refund amount could be credited directly into the bank accounts of candidates. The NTA stated that it had received representations from candidates regarding incorrect entries of bank account numbers and IFSC codes.

In response to these representations, the agency reopened the window for correction of bank details at the time of downloading Admit Cards. This step was taken to allow candidates to update or correct their bank account information while downloading their Admit Cards. The agency acknowledged that this correction facility was provided in the days immediately preceding the examination.

Final Opportunity by the NTA to Update the Bank Details

To ensure that no candidate is inconvenienced and that every eligible candidate gets a fair opportunity to receive the refund, the NTA has decided to provide one final opportunity to all candidates.

As per the notice, candidates will now be able to:

  • View bank account details
  • Confirm submitted details
  • Correct incorrect details
  • Update bank account information

This facility will be available on the NTA portal. The agency has clearly stated that this is the final opportunity for candidates in the refund-related bank account process. According to the official notice, approximately 19 lakh candidates have already updated and confirmed their bank account details.

However, the NTA also noted that a small number of candidates were unable to complete the updation of their bank details during the process. The notice explains that, since the correction facility was available close to the examination date, most candidates focused primarily on downloading their Admit Cards. As a result, some candidates were unable to complete the process of updating or confirming their bank details.

Importance of Entering the Correct Bank Details

The entire refund process depends on the accuracy of the banking information submitted by candidates. The NTA notice specifically mentions incorrect entries related to:

  • Bank account numbers
  • IFSC codes

Such incorrect entries can affect the refund process and may prevent the refund amount from being credited successfully. The correction and updation facility has therefore been provided to help candidates ensure that their details are accurate before the refund is processed.

To ensure that all eligible candidates receive their refunds without inconvenience, the NTA has reopened the portal one final time for viewing, confirmation, correction, and updation of bank details. Candidates are therefore advised to log in to the portal, carefully verify the displayed information, and complete the required confirmation or correction process as instructed by the NTA.
