NEET 2026 Syllabus, Chapter-wise Weightage and Exam Difficulty

NEET UG

NEET 2026 Syllabus, Chapter-wise Weightage and Exam Difficulty

The official NEET UG 2026 syllabus was finalised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) on December 22, 2025. It is strictly based on the NCERT Class 11 and 12 curriculum and remains largely unchanged from the previous year’s rationalised version.

The NEET 2026 Syllabus and Chapter-wise Weightage are largely based on NCERT Class 11 and 12 topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and there are no major changes compared with the previous year's NEET 2026 Syllabus and Chapter-wise Weightage. From this article, students can gain a clear overview of the subject-wise syllabi for NEET UG 2026, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology), along with a subject-wise analysis of the papers.

Overview of Subject-Wise Syllabus for NEET UG 2026

The NEET 2026 Syllabus and Chapter-wise Weightage are divided into three core subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (including Botany and Zoology). The exam is conducted for a total of 720 marks based on the NEET 2026 Syllabus and Chapter-wise Weightage. Physics and Chemistry together comprise 180 questions, while Biology contributes 360 questions, that is, 90 from Botany and 90 from Zoology. Since Biology carries the highest NEET Chapter-wise Weightage and Exam Difficulty, students are advised to focus more on this subject while maintaining a balanced preparation across all three by using the NEET 2026 Syllabus and Chapter-wise Weightage.
