National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for conducting numerous national-level exams for admission and fellowship in higher educational institutions related to engineering and medical studies.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Government of India (GOI) established NTA as a self-sustained organization that conducts international-standard tests to assess candidate competencies for admission to premier higher education institutions.

Qualifying NEET UG is mandatory to secure eligibility for admission to MBBS/BDS and other medical courses. NEET UG 2024 saw 20,87,462 candidate registrations globally for admission to 1,08,988 MBBS seats in 703 Medical colleges and 29,088 BDS seats in Dental colleges. 11,45,976 candidates cracked the NEET UG 2024 of the total 20,38,596 aspirants appeared.

NTA provides the All India Rank. Admissions to MBBS/BDS programs are granted exclusively based on the All India Rank merit list.
The seats are available under these quotas:
1. All India Quota (AIQ)
2. State Government Quota
3. Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities
4. State /Management /NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Dental Colleges or any Private University
5. Central Pool Quota
6. All seats, including NRI Quota and Management Quota, are in private unaided/aided minority / non-minority medical colleges.
7. AIIMS Institutes across India/JIPMER.
1. Admissions under State Quota Seats are subject to reservation policy and eligibility criteria prevailing in the State / Union Territory as notified periodically by the respective State/Union Territory.
2. Seat reservation in medical colleges for respective categories is per the applicable laws prevailing in the concerned State or Union Territory.
3. Admissions to MBBS/BDS Courses in Private Medical Colleges are subject to the Government of India/State/Union Territory policies.
1. Admission to Deemed, Central Universities, and ESIC, including DU, BHU, and AMU, will be conducted by DGHS—reservation policy as per University rules. Candidates must register on the MCC website for admission to Deemed/Central University/ESIC and AFMC.
2. The Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services' regulations govern admission to AFMC, Pune. Apply here. Shortlisted candidates appear for 2nd stage test by AFMC. Contact AFMC for details.
Specific reservation quotas exist for different categories (15%) in the All India Quota domain of admissions. Eligible candidates falling under these categories can apply for reserved seats under AIQ. Check category-wise reservation below:
MCC conducts the counselling for NEET UG. The counselling process for MBBS admissions starts after the declaration of NEET results. Those who clear the NEET cut-off score can participate in the process. Candidates should score 50% minimum score (for the General category) or 40%(for the ST/SC/OBC category).
A. 15% All India Quota seats MBBS/ BDS Seats of States (including Jammu & Kashmir)
B. 100% MBBS/ BDS Seats of BHU OPEN
C. AIIMS Open seats - 100% MBBS Seats of AIIMS across India
D. JIPMER Open (Puducherry/ Karaikal) & Internal seats (Domicile)
E. AMU Open & Internal seats
F. 85% Internal quota/domicile seats of DU/ I.P University (VMMC/ ABVIMS/ESIC Dental)
G. Jamia Open seats- Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Milia Islamia) & Internal seats
H. 15% All India Quota Seats of ESIC & Insured Persons quota seats
I. AFMC – Only Registration
J. 100% B.Sc (Nursing) of selected Central B.Sc. Nursing Institutes (as per respective regulations)
Step 1 – Login
Register by submitting your details, agreeing to the terms and conditions, and noting your login credentials and password.
Step 2 – Personal Detail Submission
Candidates must provide accurate personal information during the NEET UG 2024 counselling procedure. Ensure the information provided is consistent with the documents submitted during admission. This step requires submitting details such as the mother's name, father's name, and address detail.
Step 3 – Payment Methods for Counselling
Candidates must submit a non-refundable registration fee and a refundable tuition fee. Fees can be paid both by offline or Online payment (credit/card/debit card/net banking).

Step 4 – Registration Slip
After submitting the details, the admission process requires a hard copy of the registration slip. To continue with the process, click on the ‘Login’ button.
Step 5 – Available Choices
The 'Available Choices' link becomes active after the counselling process commences. Candidates who have submitted the fees for both 15% AIQ/Central Universities and Deemed Universities can apply for both categories of seats.
Step 6 – Selecting the choices
Candidates must save their selections and proceed with the process after confirming the same.
Step 7 – Choice Locking
It is mandatory to lock the choices for the final submission of preferences in counselling. No changes can edited once it is secured. The choice-locking selections are final if candidates fail to change it/them.
Step 8 – Take a Printout
Candidates should keep a printout of the filled choices since it is essential in the subsequent counselling procedures.
Step 9 – Seat Allotment
The seat allotment follows after every counselling round. Candidates can check their name, roll no., listed category, candidate category, allotted college, quota, and course in the NEET seat allotment list.
Step 10 – Reporting to the Alloted College
Candidates should report to the allotted college for admission formality completion.
