The controversy began with the NEET UG 2024 examination held on May 5. 13,16,268 qualified students are now competing for 1,08,988 MBBS seats in medical colleges nationwide. The results, announced on June 4, were followed by numerous complaints of paper leaks and allegations of widespread malpractice.
Due to these alleged paper leaks, the NEET UG 2024 exam has faced significant scrutiny, leading to multiple arrests and a thorough CBI investigation. The Supreme Court has decided to delay the case hearing until July 18, adding to the stress among aspiring students.
The petitioners have raised significant concerns about the fairness and transparency of the NEET UG 2024 examination. They argue that awarding over 1,500 students with grace marks has significantly distorted the overall rankings. This has led to widespread discontent among students and parents, who believe that the irregularities and paper leaks have compromised the integrity of the examination.
