The NEET UG 2024 exam, the standardized medical entrance test for aspiring students, saw unprecedented participation. A total of 23,33,297 candidates took the NEET UG exam. Of these, 13,16,268 candidates passed, and 67 students achieved a perfect score of 720.

 

Parents and students swiftly expressed their concerns upon discovering significant inconsistencies in the announcements released by the National Testing Agency, which is responsible for administering the NEET UG examination. This matter sparked a vigorous discussion about the fairness of the announcements for candidates nationwide, highlighting the controversy surrounding the NEET UG 2024 exam.

 

Moreover, six top performers in the NEET UG 2024 examination share the same seat number sequence and are from Haryana. This suggests they may have taken the exam at the same test center. Concerns were raised after scorecards with marks 718 and 719 were shared on numerous social media platforms.

Grace Marks Concern and NEET UG Re-examination for 1563 Candidates.

 

In response to various instances and reports of candidates experiencing time loss during NEET UG 2024, the NTA has implemented a normalization formula created and endorsed by the highest court in a 2018 ruling. This formula was utilized to provide additional marks to candidates as compensation. According to an NTA representative, some candidates who appeared for the NEET UG examination may have marks of 718 or 719 due to these adjustments, ensuring transparency in the process.

 

The NTA allowed 1563 candidates to retake the NEET UG exam to ensure fairness. New admit cards for NEET UG  were issued on June 20, and the re-examination occurred on June 23, 2024. Out of these candidates, 750 did not appear for the NEET UG re-exam.
