The minister officially announced that there will be no hike in medical education fees during the academic year 2025-26.
Office bearers from private colleges attended the official meeting chaired by Sharan Prakash Patil on May 17th, 2025 (Saturday). The minister highlighted that there was a hike of 10% for the previous year i.e., 2024-25, after appeals from the private colleges to increase the fees. This hike in the fees is also sufficient for the current year 2025-26, according to the minister. The message was made very clear that there will be no hike in medical education fees the 2025-26 session.
Sharan Prakash Patil further stated that an agreement officiating the decision for no hike in medical education fees for 2025-26 in private medical colleges will soon be signed.
No hike in medical education fees across private medical and dental colleges for the academic year 2025-26 means that the fee structure will remain the same as last year. The revocation of the 10 to 15% hike in medical education in Karnataka will lighten the burden for candidates looking to pursue medical education in private colleges across the state.
