In 2023, out of 1,37,396 NEET UG candidates registered in Kerala State, 1,33,450 appeared for the exam, and 75,362 candidates qualified, 43.2% of the total number of medical aspirants who appeared. The trend of candidate registration continued to rise in 2024, reaching 1,44,949, a 5% increase, indicating a promising future and growing opportunities for aspiring medical students.
CEE’s Kerala Engineering, Architecture, and Medical (KEAM) is responsible for conducting counselling for the state quota seats in Kerala State Medical colleges.
a. 85% of seats in government colleges and 100% in private colleges are reserved for Kerala State Domicile applicants or the wards of Kerala State native parents.
b. Candidates who have completed qualifying courses in Kerala State and fulfill specific criteria related to their parents' service or completion of school studies in Kerala State are eligible to apply for 85% of seats in government colleges under Non-Keralite Category I [NK I].
c. Other state candidates are also eligible to apply for 15% of seats in private colleges under Non-Keralite Category II [NK II]

Recently, on 04.07.2024, the Government of Kerala State released a modified order regarding the documents to be submitted for admission to medical courses under the NRI quota Health & Family also Welfare Department Medical Education Academic Admission to Medical Courses under NRI Quota Documents to be submitted.
NOTE: NRI quota for MBBS admission in Kerala State seats in private medical colleges only. There are no NRI quota seats available in Kerala State government medical colleges.
According to the kerala State Government Order referenced in the second paper above, the Kerala State government has mandated the documents required for NRI candidates seeking admission to medical courses.
As per the GO, as read in the 2nd paper above, the Kerala State government has mandated that the NRI candidates submit the documents for admission to medical courses. As per the letter in the 4th paper above, the Admission Supervisory Committee for Medical Education has recommended that the sponsor's Norka Roots ID be included in the documents uploaded by the NRI candidates for admission to Medical Courses.

For NRI seat applicants, the sponsor plays a crucial role in the application process. They must provide a copy of their passport and visa/green card/Norka Roots ID/OCI documents, with their job details mentioned, for verification.
