NTA Releases JEE Main 2026 (Session 1) Results

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 session 1 results for B.E./B.Tech on its official website. A total of 13,55,293 had registered for the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam, out of which over 96%, i.e., 13,04,653, appeared. 12 candidates across various states in India had obtained the NTA score of 100 in paper 1.

Overview of JEE Main 2026 Session 1

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026, comprising sessions 1 and 2, is an important exam before the JEE Advanced. The JEE Main 2026 exam is easier compared to the JEE Advanced exam. Candidates participating in the JEE Main 2026 exam must be within the top 2.5 lakh to be eligible for participation in the JEE Advanced exam.

 

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 session 1 was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) across 658 designated centers and 326 cities (including 15 cities outside India). The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam was conducted on 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28 January 2026. The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam was a computer-based test, which was held twice on each exam day (morning and evening). The questions in the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam were objective from subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

 

The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam was conducted in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The Examination was also conducted in 15 cities outside India in Manama, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, Kuwait City, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, West Java, Washington, Munich, and Abu Dhabi.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 session 1 results were released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on its official website on February 16th, 2026. The official notice consists of the JEE Main 2026 session 1 results and other vital information. Here’s some information on the JEE Main 2026 session 1 results:

A total of 13,55,293 had registered for the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam; however, only 96.26% (13,04,653) of the registered candidates appeared for the exam. 12 candidates who appeared for the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam had secured 100 marks. Candidates across 5 categories had appeared for the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam. 8,55,085 of the total appeared candidates were male, and the remaining 4,49,568 were female.

Most of the candidates, i.e.,  5,17,336 candidates, who appeared for the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam belonged to the Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer (OBC - NCL). This was followed by the General category, with 4,52,825 candidates. The Scheduled Tribes (ST) category had the least number of candidates who appeared for the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam, with 43,632 candidates.

 

Toppers in the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam

The official notice released by the NTA also consisted of the state-wise toppers and their NTA scores. Here are a few details of the state-wise toppers and their NTA scores, as per the official notice:

 

A total of 12 candidates had secured 100 NTA scores in the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam. Out of these, 3 were from Rajasthan, 2 from Andhra Pradesh, and other states, including Bihar, Odisha, Delhi (NCT), Haryana, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Gujarat had 1 candidate each. These figures show that despite the competition and toughness of the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam, multiple candidates managed to obtain the perfect 100 NTA score.

 

A total of 24 candidates across various states had secured 99 percentile. A candidate from Uttar Pradesh had secured the highest percentile in the 99 percentile category, with 99.9992497 NTA score. Another candidate from Karnataka had secured 99.9992454 NTA score.
