Andhra Pradesh Medical Colleges Quota-wise Closing Ranks

 

 

 

Andhra Pradesh is home to 36 medical colleges, collectively offering 6366 MBBS seats, ranking it 7th among all states in India.

 

Out of these, 17 are government colleges with 2773 seats, while the remaining 18 are private and offer 3100 seats. Additionally, Andhra Pradesh has only 1 deemed university.

 

To be eligible for counselling rounds, candidates must complete the Dr.Y.S.R University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh State Counselling application form.

 

Dr. Y.S.R University of Health Sciences is responsible for the counselling process of Andhra Pradesh State for admission to 85% of State Quota seats in government colleges and 100% of seats in private colleges. Across India, there are currently 703 medical colleges offering 1,08,988 MBBS seats and 29,088 BDS seats.

Fathima Institute of Medical Sciences, Kadapa, and NIMRA Institute of Medical Sciences are the two Private Un-Aided Minority Medical colleges that allot for CAT B2 & CAT(NRI) quota.

Medical Seat Distribution in Andhra Pradesh by College-type

 

As of 2024, Andhra Pradesh has 36 government medical colleges. 460 seats under AIQ and 2313 seats under State Quota are allotted.

 

 

Private Colleges: Are divided into three categories -

 

Category A (CAT-A): Comprising 1550 seats, CAT-A typically includes merit-based admissions.

 

Category B (CAT-B): With 1092 seats, CAT-B often encompasses management quota admissions.

 

Category C (CAT-C): Holding 458 seats, CAT-C is reserved for special students such as international students, scholarships, or underrepresented groups.

 

 

Self-financing Government Colleges hold 225 seats in CAT-B and CAT-C, with 95 seats.

NOTE: Self-financing government college is a part of the government.

 

Andhra Pradesh holds only 1 Deemed College with 150 seats. On May 06, 2024, Dr.Y.S.R University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, released the College-wise last rank and the competent Quota of Andhra Pradesh State counselling score for 2023-24.

 

It is important to note that the NEET UG 2024, the national standardized medical entrance examination for medical aspirants, was conducted on May 5, 2024. The official provisional answer key was released on May 30, 2024, and the results are scheduled to be announced by June 14, 2024.
