Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) recently released the eligibility criteria for NRI Quota admissions. Candidates must provide proof of their NRI Quota status and meet academic qualifications. All NRI Quota sponsored candidates must produce an original affidavit from their sponsoring guardian by August 30, 2024. Additionally, evidence supporting this claim must be provided, such as a copy of the fees previously remitted by the sponsor on behalf of the student or any other relevant proof. Non-resident Indians (NRI) Quota Status:

 

• The candidate’s parents must be NRIs, and they should ideally be living overseas as NRIs.

 

• Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), and their children are referred to as Non-Resident Indians (NRIs).

 

• Students known as NRIs are the children of Central or State government workers who are abroad on deputation.

 

• Non-resident Indians (NRIs) also include children of Indian nationals working or doing business abroad.

 

• Candidates who were born outside of India but have Indian parents are regarded as non-resident Indians (NRIs).

 

• Alternatively, the candidate may be sponsored by an NRI first-degree relative (actual brother or sister) or nearest relative (as described below).
