Telangana Examination Authority holds NEET UG counselling in the state. Telangana NEET UG counselling is a state-centralized online counselling process. A candidate can apply to MBBS & BDS courses in various Government/Private Medical colleges.

The counselling procedure will be based on one’s NEET UG 2024 Scorecard and managed by the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Telangana.

 

Telangana ranks 4th in India in number of medical colleges, at 56. These institutes account for a total of 8440 seats across the state. The 28 Government colleges offer 3890 seats in total, while the 28 Private colleges account for 4550 seats.

About Telangana Examination Authority (NEET UG 2024 counselling)

 

 

Dr. Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, conducts the Telangana State counselling for qualified candidates. 

 

Based on the NEET results, the authority provides Telangana NEET counselling. The official website of Telangana NEET UG 2024 counselling is knruhs.telangana.gov.in. The applicants who find their names on the tentative list are the only ones who can attend the Telangana NEET UG 2024 MBBS counselling. Candidates whose names appear on the final merit list of the Telangana NEET UG 2024 counselling can complete their choices.

 

To participate in the Telangana NEET UG counselling in 2024, candidates must register by completing the necessary forms and paying the registration cost. Upon registering for the Telangana state quota NEET UG counselling 2024, candidates must select their courses and universities.

Telangana State NEET UG Counselling 2024 Highlights

 

A new registration record has been set for NEET UG 2024, with 23,81,833 candidates registering for the exam. This represents a 14.1% increase in total registrations compared to the previous year. Knowing the total number of registrations can help aspirants understand the competition they are facing.

 

 

 

In 2023, there were 20,87,462 candidate registrations globally for NEET UG, which was an exam for admission to 1,08,988 MBBS seats in 703 medical colleges, and 29,088 BDS seats in dental colleges. Out of these registrations, 11,45,976 candidates cleared the NEET UG 2023 exam, while 20,38,596 aspirants appeared.

 

 

Telangana State Counselling NEET UG 2024 Registrations

 

 

 

According to the NEET UG 2024 registration data, the largest group of medical aspirants are from the OBC NCL category, which accounted for 43.8% of registrations and 10,43,084 applicants. OBC NCL refers to Other Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer.

 

After the registration process, 6,43,596 candidates from the General category and 3,52,107 candidates from the Scheduled Caste category had expressed interest in medical education, comprising 27% and 14.8% respectively. The figures indicate a significant interest in medical education from both categories.

 

The General-Economically Weaker Section (Gen-EWS) category is a relatively new addition to the reservation criteria. However, it has gained notable participation with 1,88,557 candidates competing for medical seats, which accounts for 7.9% of the total registrations. Additionally, the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category also has a significant participation of 1,54,489 students, which accounts for 6.5% of the total registrations.

Candidates must read the eligibility criteria before applying for Telangana NEET UG 2024 counselling. The table below shows the qualification and eligibility criteria for the NEET UG 2024 entrance exam.

  • Candidates should have passed Intermediate (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) / Biotechnology, and English. 

 

  • OC candidates, including candidates seeking EWS reservation, should obtain 50% marks in science subjects.

 

  • BC/SC/ST candidates should obtain at least 40% marks in science subjects. 

 

  • OC PWD candidates should obtain at least 45% marks in science subjects.

Age

  • Candidate should complete 17 years of age as of 31-12-2024. 

 

  • Candidates who do not complete 17 years as of 31-12-2024 are not eligible for admission. 

 

  • Candidates born on or after 02-01-2005 are not eligible for admission into MBBS/BDS Courses for 2024-25.



 

Management / NRI quota Eligibility Criteria

 

Telangana Management Quota:

 

B1 - 15% of category B: Seats are open all over the country and filled first from the merit list of management quota.

 

B2 - 85% of category B: Seats will be allotted to the domicile of Telangana state only.
