In a recent turn of events, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to reconsider and approve new medical colleges, which may likely increase the total MBBS seats in 2025. The NMC, the authority responsible for the admission of NEET candidates, has recently reversed its earlier stance against approving new medical colleges and seats. The authority announced that it will be approving new medical colleges and renewing the seats for the NEET 2025 session. The NMC has clearly stated that the medical colleges involved in the favorable inspection report bribery will not be considered for approval.
