NTRUHS MBBS & BDS Course Admission Commencement for 2024-25

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, has notified that MBBS & BDS Courses starting from October 14 will now replace the previously scheduled start date of October 1, 2024.


Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, has released an official notification regarding MBBS & BDS admissions for the academic year 2024-25. This notice covers vital information for Competent Authority and Management Quota admissions. According to the revised guidelines for the Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) Curriculum 2024, the medical courses starting from
October 14 will now replace the previously scheduled start date of October 1, 2024. All students and faculty must note this change as it reflects the new commencement date for the upcoming academic year.

NTRUHS MBBS & BDS Course Commencement for 2024-25


According to the notification issued by NTRUHS, classes for MBBS and BDS Courses will begin on October 14, 2024. The delay was caused by revised instructions from the National Medical Commission (NMC), which mandated changes to the academic calendar under the CBME curriculum. This updated schedule impacts all medical colleges affiliated with NTRUHS, affecting thousands of students who are set to enroll in the MBBS and BDS programs.

  • NTRUHS will commence its MBBS & BDS Courses on October 14, 2024.
  • All students admitted under the Competent Authority and Management Quota must adhere to this new date.

Web Options Entry for MBBS & BDS Courses under NTRUHS


In addition to announcing the start date for the academic year, NTRUHS previously opened the Web Options Entry process for students seeking admission into the MBBS and BDS courses. The Web Options Entry allowed students to select their preferred colleges and special categories for admission under the AP NEET Counselling 2024 system.

AP NEET Counselling is conducted by the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences and includes a comprehensive selection process for various categories, including:

  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
  • Physically/Mentally Challenged (PMC)
  • National Cadet Corps (NCC)
  • Children of Armed Personnel (CAP)
  • Sports & Games
  • Scouts & Guides
  • Anglo-Indian


This one-time Web Options Entry allowed students to prioritize their college choices based on location, category, and other personal preferences. Following the guidelines provided by NTRUHS is crucial to ensuring a successful admission process.


Categories of Available Seats under AP NEET Counselling 2024


Students applying for the MBBS and BDS Courses under NTRUHS can choose from various seat categories:

  1. Government Medical and Dental Colleges: 85% of the total intake is reserved for the state quota, with 15% allocated to the All India Quota (AIQ).
  2. Government Medical Colleges (2023-24 onwards): 50% of the intake is available under the Competent Authority Quota.
  3. Private Un-aided Non-Minority Medical and Dental Colleges: 50% of the intake (Category 'A' seats) is affiliated with NTRUHS.
  4. Private Un-aided Minority Medical and Dental Colleges: 50% of the intake (Category 'A' seats) is affiliated with NTRUHS.
  5. Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (under SVIMS): 126 MBBS seats are available for female candidates.


A notable addition to this list is the New Government Medical College in Paderu, offering 50 MBBS admissions seats for the academic year 2024-25. The Government of India recently approved this college, which will be part of the AP NEET Counselling process.

AP NEET Counselling 2024: Important Dates and Deadlines


The Web Options Entry process for Candidates participating in AP NEET Counselling 2024 was as follows:

  • Notification Issue Date: September 4, 2024
  • Start of Web Options Entry: 03:00 PM on September 4, 2024
  • End of Web Options Entry: 02:00 PM on September 8, 2024


The NTRUHS website provides detailed instructions and guidelines for Web Options Entry, including a User Manual for students unfamiliar with the online submission process.


Special Categories for MBBS & BDS Admissions under NTRUHS


Candidates applying under special categories, such as PwBD, PMC, NCC, and CAP, should review the notification regarding specific seat allocations. Once the final prioritized lists are published, seats will be allotted based on the Web Option Entries made by the candidates in these categories.


AP NEET Counselling 2024 – Finality of Web Options Entry


As the NTRUHS Official website states, Candidates must exercise caution when entering their preferences. The Web Options Entry process will be the only opportunity to select colleges for admission under the MBBS and BDS courses at NTRUHS. No further notifications for changes will be issued, making this a one-time chance to secure a seat in a preferred institution.


The NTRUHS MBBS & BDS Admissions process will include several rounds, including stray vacancy rounds. However, the initial Web Options Entry will remain valid for all rounds of seat allotment.
