The Supreme Court of India has agreed to hear a petition on August 9, 2024, seeking to postpone the NEET PG 2024 exam, which is currently scheduled for August 11, 2024. This decision follows a request for an urgent hearing by Advocate Anas Tanwir, which was mentioned before Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud.
The petitioners argue that many candidates have been allocated exam cities that are highly inconvenient and difficult to reach. The allocation of test cities was announced on July 31, 2024, the short notice has made it challenging for students to arrange travel to their designated cities. The petition also calls for the disclosure of the normalization formula for the four sets of question papers to ensure transparency and fairness in the examination process.

Impact of the Petition to Supreme Court
The NEET PG 2024 exam, initially scheduled for June 23, 2024, was already rescheduled for August 11, 2024, due to concerns about impersonation threats and potential paper leaks. This decision has affected approximately 2,27,800 NEET PG 2024 Exam aspirants. Despite the rescheduling, the eligibility cut-off date remains August 15, 2024.
