Telangana has 56 medical colleges offering a total of 8440 MBBS seats, ranking it 5th among all states in India.

 

Out of these, 28 are government colleges with 3890 seats, while the remaining 28 are private and offer 4550 seats.

 

Candidates must complete the Kaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) Telangana State NEET UG 2024 Counselling application form to be eligible for counselling rounds.

 

KNRUHS is responsible for the counselling process of Telangana State for admission to 85% of State Quota seats in government colleges and 100% of seats in private colleges. Across India, there are currently 703 medical colleges offering a total of 1,08,988 MBBS seats and 29,088 BDS seats.

Among them, the Government Medical College in Secunderabad and Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal have the highest number of seats, with 250 each.

Telangana State Medical College Seat Distribution by Counselling-wise

 

 

Medical students can understand the seat distribution and admission process for medical colleges in Telangana by analyzing the allocation process based on the type of counseling.

 

For Telangana NEET counseling, the state authority KNRUHS will conduct the process for 85% of State Quota seats, while the MCC will handle the counseling for the remaining 15% of seats.

1. MCC Counselling: 544 seats are reserved for 15% of AIQ, 100 seats for AIIMS, and 43 seats for IP Ward Quota.

The KNRUHS allots only 85% of the seats in Government Colleges because 15% of the seats are allocated under the All India Quota (AIQ) through MCC counselling. KNRUHS has complete authority to allot all the seats in private colleges.

  • Consideration for competent, Management quota seats in Un-aided Private Minority Medical colleges will be given only to Muslim minority candidates. If minority candidates are not available, the seats will be converted to non-minority in the last phase of counseling and will be filled with eligible candidates.
