Telangana has 56 medical colleges offering a total of 8440 MBBS seats, ranking it 5th among all states in India.

The KNRUHS allots only 85% of the seats in Government Colleges because 15% of the seats are allocated under the All India Quota (AIQ) through MCC counselling. KNRUHS has complete authority to allot all the seats in private colleges. 

 

Private colleges in Telangana are categorized into two types: Private Unaided Non-Minority Colleges and Minority Colleges.

 

 

 

• B1 - 15% of seats are open to candidates from all over the country.

 

• B2 - 85% of seats will be allotted to local candidates from Telangana State only.

 

• The local candidates are eligible for both 15% unreserved seats and 85% reservative local area seats.

• Consideration for competent, Management quota seats in Un-aided Private Minority Medical colleges will be given only to Muslim minority candidates.
