NEET UG 2024: Kerala Counselling

A Hello Mentor Overview of Kerala Counselling

The Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE) is the authority responsible for conducting entrance examinations for admissions to various professional courses, including Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medical (KEAM) courses.

The KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) holds NEET Counselling. Candidates under the All India Quota (AIQ) are eligible for 15% of the seats available in government medical institutes. The MCC uses a coordinated Counselling procedure to fill these positions.

Kerala students are entitled to the remaining 85% of the available seats, depending on the candidate’s NEET scores. The authority requires aspirants to fill out the KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) application form to be eligible for Counselling.

About Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM)

KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) is an entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala. It is an entrance test for admission to various professional degree courses in Kerala that includes engineering, architecture, and medicine (including MBBS, BDS, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha, Unani, Agriculture, Forestry, Veterinary, and Fisheries).

KEAM is one of the qualifying exams for engineering and medical courses in Kerala, and for medical studies, it's essential to also qualify for NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). NEET is a national-level entrance examination for medical aspirants in India.

Candidates seeking admission to medical courses in Kerala must appear for NEET and score qualifying marks, in addition to fulfilling the eligibility criteria laid out by the CEE Kerala. KEAM scores may impact admission, but NEET scores are crucial for medical courses.

The Counselling process for medical courses in Kerala usually considers NEET scores. Candidates must register, fill in choices, and attend Counselling rounds based on their NEET ranks and eligibility criteria set by the state authority.

It's essential to stay updated with the official announcements and guidelines issued by the CEE Kerala for the most accurate and updated information regarding KEAM and NEET Counselling for medical courses in the state. Kerala MBBS/BDS Counselling Process

Step 1: Online Registration For Kerala Counselling

Notification Release: The official notification detailing the Counselling schedule, registration dates, and pertinent information will be released by the designated authority, such as the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) in Kerala.

Online Registration: Aspiring candidates must register on the official Counselling portal within the stipulated timeframe. During registration, they must provide personal details, academic qualifications, and other necessary information.

Step 2: Document Verification For Kerala Counselling

Document Upload: After successful registration, candidates are required to upload scanned copies of essential documents, including:

  • Class 10th and 12th mark sheets/certificates

  • NEET UG scorecard

  • Category certificate (if applicable)

  • Domicile certificate

Verification Process: Candidates must physically visit the specified verification centers (as mentioned in the notification) to authenticate and verify uploaded documents.

Step 3: Choice Filling and Locking For Kerala Counselling

Choice Filling: Eligible candidates log in to the Counselling portal to fill in their preferences for colleges and courses offering MBBS/BDS upgrades. They prioritize their choices based on personal preferences.

Choice Locking: After selecting preferred options, candidates must 'lock' their choices within the specified deadline. Once locked, modifications might not be possible, so careful consideration is crucial.

Step 4:  Seat-Allotment

Seat Allotment: Utilizing NEET UG ranks, choices filled, reservation criteria, and seat availability, the authority conducts seat allotment rounds. Candidates receive allotted seats based on merit and their submitted preferences.

Step 5: Reporting to Allotted College

Acceptance of Seat: Candidates receiving allotted seats must log in to the portal and accept the seat within the stipulated timeframe. They must pay the prescribed admission fee to confirm their acceptance.

Reporting to College: After accepting the allotted seat, candidates must physically report to the designated college within the specified period. They should carry the necessary documents and the admission fee receipt to complete the admission process.

Step 6: Subsequent Rounds (If Applicable) For Kerala Counselling

Subsequent Rounds: If vacant seats remain after the initial Counselling rounds, the next rounds might be conducted. Candidates who didn’t secure seats earlier or desire upgrades can participate in these additional rounds.

Upgradation and Vacant Seat Filling: In subsequent rounds, participants can upgrade seats or claim vacancies based on merit and preferences, filling any remaining available seats.

Candidates participating in Kerala Counselling 2023 will have the option to choose their preferred choices for admission.

Step 2: First-Choice Selection For Kerala Counselling

Fee Payment: Candidates opting for their first choice must pay the tuition fee through various modes such as e-challan, NEFT, IMPS, RTGS, credit/debit card, or net banking.

  • Document Submission: After making the fee payment, candidates should submit their original documents to the state authority.

  • Admission Order Download: After paying the fee and submitting the documents, candidates can download the admission order from the official Kerala 2023 admission website.

Step 3: Second-Choice Selection For Kerala Counselling

  • Fee Payment: Candidates selecting their second choice must also pay the tuition fee using any of the mentioned payment modes (similar to the first choice).

  • Admission Order Download: However, candidates opting for the second choice cannot download the admission order even after making a fee payment.

Step 4: Third Choice Selection For Kerala Counselling

Candidates selecting their third choice for admission will follow a different process:

  • No Fee Payment or Document Submission: There is no requirement to pay the admission fee or submit any documents for the third choice.
