11,65,904 medical aspirants from the Unreserved category qualified NEET UG 2024. This is more than the total qualified NEET (UG) 2023 candidates (11,45,976) combined!

 

 

June 4 saw the declaration of the results of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) - UG 2024. This year saw the highest-ever qualification rate at 56.4%.

 

 

A record 13,16,268 candidates qualified, competing for 1,08,988 MBBS seats across 703 medical colleges. As of 2024, there are 29,088 BDS seats in 329 Dental colleges nationwide.

 

 

NEET UG 2024 saw unparalleled competition among candidates, as 67 students achieved a perfect score of 720/720. Moreover, 11,65,904 medical aspirants from the Unreserved category qualified NEET UG 2024. This is more than the total qualified NEET UG 2023 candidates (11,45,976) combined!

Another fact that testifies to the increased competition in the Indian medical counselling landscape is the high difference in All India Ranks. To give an example:

 

Scoring 500 in NEET UG 2023 would result in an All India Rank of 1,09,125. And in NEET UG 2024, the same score would secure an AIR of 2,10,250. The jump, with 1,01,125 ranks, marks increased competition for medical seats nationwide. 

 

 

 

NEET UG Category-wise Qualifying Cut-Off: Year-wise Analysis

 

Candidates from every category must be in a certain percentile to successfully qualify NEET UG. The range of marks that place a candidate in these percentiles changes yearly. These marks are called the qualifying cut-offs.
